MAARIFA (Transformative Knowledge for People, Forests and Climate in Tanzania) is a new research project collaboration of interdisciplinary team (involving the fields of ecology, political ecology, information technologies, political science, geography and anthropology) from the University of Dar es Salaam, University of Dodoma and University of Copenhagen funded by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Denmark (MFA) through the administration of Danida Fellowship Centre.

Call for applications: eDNA for Marine Biodiversity Assessment, Monitoring and Management

The School of Aquatic Sciences and Fisheries Technology (SoAF), University of Dar es Salaam (Tanzania) invites applications for a training workshop on environmental DNA (eDNA) techniques for studying,       monitoring, and conserving marine biodiversity. This workshop is supported by WIOMSA and will take place in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania from 20th to 24th May, 2024.

Vacancy Announcement: Financial Administrator

The Department of Geography in collaboration with the University of Cape Town’s Environmental Humanities South (EHS) is implementing a four-year research project namely: Critical Zones Africa, South and East (CzASE). The project is funded by the Science for Africa Foundation (SFA). It brings several other African research institutions including Addis Ababa University, Lilongwe University of Agriculture and Natural Resources (LUANAR), University of Zimbabwe, Human Sciences Research Council (HSRC) of South Africa and University of Leeds (School of Earth and Environment).

The University of Dar es Salaam Research Chair on Forced Displacement (UDSM-RCFD), under the Project “Strengthening knowledge, evidence use and leadership in the global south on forced displacement: with a focus on East Africa” hereby calls applications for interns (6 positions) to work with an NGO called Care and Assistance for Forced Migration (CAFOMI) working in Uganda for three-months undertaking duties given to them by the NGO.
