Dr. Colman Msoka

Welcome to the Institute of Development Studies (IDS). It is the oldest and prestigious Institute of its own kind established in 1973. We aim to strengthen the skills and capabilities of those already working within the development sector, as well as nurture a new generation of development thought, policy and practice leaders.
The Institute has competent and experienced human resource in a wide-range of interdisciplinary development fields namely: population, environment, health and urbanization; technology, innovation, agriculture and industrialization; gender, development economics, national planning and poverty analyses; entrepreneurship, regional cooperation and integration, development ethics and culture; political economy, democracy, governance and globalization.
We offer undergraduate and postgraduate programmes, and undertake state-of-art collaborative researches and consultancy services. We believe passionately that cutting-edge research, knowledge and mutual learning are crucial in shaping the transformations needed to reduce inequalities, accelerate sustainability and build more inclusive and secure societies. We are committed to collaborating closely with local civil society, governments, international Nongovernmental organizations, citizens, researchers, development partners and many others.
We warmly welcome you all at the IDS, the only place to master Development Studies.
