The Department of Geosciences is one of the three departments under the School of Mines and Geosciences, in short form SoMG. Other departments in SoMG are the Department of Mining and Mineral Processing Engineering and Department of Petroleum Science and Engineering. The Department of Geosciences is responsible in teaching, researching and providing public services or consultancy in all geosciences fields, which includes geology, geochemistry, geophysics, remote sensing, geohazards, hydrogeology, geothermal energy, noble isotopes geochemistry and many other more.
