PLANNING AND DEVELOPMENT
Planning and Development Section is responsible for all planning and development issues at the University. These include strategic planning, overseeing project development and ensuring efficient allocation of resources. The section works closely with various Units to collect and analyze information, identify growth opportunities and recommend plans that align with the University vision and mission. It also coordinates planning and development activities across the University including preparation of the Corporate Strategic Plan, Rolling Strategic Plan, Action Plans and the University Budget. Specifically, the Planning and Development Section is responsible to undertake the following duties;
- Prepare institutional performance report based on Government and UDSM approved approaches;
- Coordinate the development of UDSM organizational structure;
- Coordinate the development of Institutional Strategic plans;
- Coordinate the preparation of University MTEF Plan and Budgets;
- Prepare budget implementation reports;
- Develop and monitor the implementation of institutional cost cutting measures;
- Coordinate and control planning and effective utilization of resources;
- Conduct monitoring and evaluation of all development projects;
- Develop a database of all university policies, regulations guidelines and operational manuals and coordinate their implementation;
The Section is led by Head of Planning and Development who report directly to the Director of Planning, Development and Investment.
