M.A Records and Archives Management

The Master of Arts in Records and Archives Management programme is intended to prepare students to be able to:

  • Acquire knowledge, skills, and competencies in records and archives management standards
  • Apply knowledge and skills acquired to enhance competence in records and archives management in organizations
  • Understand different tools and techniques in managing records and archives
  • Develop records and archives management systems
  • Design, evaluate, and manage databases to support records and archival services

Entry Requirements/Qualifications

The MA in Records and Archives Management is a multidisciplinary course. To be considered for admission to this programme, a candidate must be a holder of a degree from the University of Dar es Salaam or any other accredited university. The candidate should have a first degree in any field as a minimum entry qualification, with a minimum pass level of lower second class and a GPA of not less than 2.7.

Weight of Each Component in the Final Assessment of the Programme

The programme contains 50% coursework (oral and written) and 50% final written examination, including the dissertation.
